Kristalia Kristalia was founded in 1994 by young local entrepreneurs joined by two common passions: design and jazz.
Right from the very start, Kristalia paid special attention to innovative projects, by means of experimentation and the continuing search for new technical solutions, using materials which they adapted from the fields of fashion and sports.
In the autumn of 1995, Kristalia presented its first catalogue to the commercial network. The intended target for the first products was a middle-aged consumer, oriented towards contemporary furnishing, in the upper-middle economic range and with the need to find reassuring tastes and details, bound to tradition, in the things he or she purchases.
Starting from the end of the 90's, with the creation of a definitive company organization, the desire arose to pursue a new path, and to go after customers who were not necessarily bound to tradition, offering a product with aesthetic and qualitative characteristics especially close to contemporary Italian design. Today, the Kristalia collection offers items that stand out because of the essential character, the ease of placement, and which take into account a younger age group, in line with the current needs of daily living.
At present, Kristalia srl is composed of and led by people who are motivated and highly involved in the development plans. Strategies analysed by the owners are implemented only after they are presented to the entire staff. This constant search for a team spirit, a spirit in which to take as many challenges as possible, creates enthusiasm and dedication.
The BOUM chair, designed Monica Graffeo, won first prize in the Young&Design 2003 contest (Milan Furniture Exposition, April 12).

Mathias
Before living in a home, there is nothing but an empty space. Before starting, there is only an idea, a clear idea that cannot be described. There is a series of images in the mind blurred images, almost without a contour even if the sensation that one wants to feel are already there: the strong sensations that are almost tangible like items themselves. Intimacy, balance, harmony, warmth , reliability and most of all, personality: the personality of who is going to live in the home.
So there is nothing else left but to look for them, and, in doing so, to look through things so as to understand their nature and feel the love of the designer and manufacturer. Before starting there was an idea, today there is MATHIAS…

Mascheroni
The craftsman isn’t ever following a single line of instruction. He’s making decision as he goes along. For that reason he’ll be absorbed and attentive to what he’s doing even though he doesn’t deliberately contrive this. His motions and machine are in a kind of harmony. He isn’t following any set of written instructions because the nature of the material at hand determines his thoughts and motions, which simultaneously change the nature of the material at hand. The material and his thoughts are changing together in the progression of changes until his mind’s at rest at the same time the material’s right.” “Sounds like art,”the instructor says “well its art I say”.
